Quality Control

At Obibi, quality is not just a process—it's our promise to every parent, every child, and every brand partner who trusts us with their baby clothing and product manufacturing. Our comprehensive Quality Control system represents the culmination of over a decade of expertise in infant care products, built upon a foundation of rigorous standards, advanced testing methodologies, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

We understand that when it comes to baby products, there is zero room for compromise. Every seam, every fabric choice, every component must meet the highest possible standards of safety, comfort, and durability. Our QC philosophy integrates prevention, detection, and continuous improvement at every stage of production—from raw material sourcing to final packaging. This multi-layered approach ensures that every product bearing your brand not only meets regulatory requirements but exceeds customer expectations.

This page details the sophisticated quality infrastructure that supports our manufacturing operations. It demonstrates our systematic approach to risk management, our investment in state-of-the-art testing equipment, and the qualified team of quality professionals who serve as guardians of your brand's reputation.

Our Quality Philosophy: Zero Compromise

Prevention Over Correction

We believe the most effective quality control happens before production begins. Through rigorous supplier qualification, material testing, and process validation, we build quality into our products from the very beginning rather than inspecting for defects after they occur.

  • Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews
  • Supplier capability assessments
  • Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Pre-production sample approvals

Data-Driven Decision Making

Our quality decisions are based on measurable data, not subjective opinions. We employ statistical process control, laboratory testing results, and detailed inspection reports to identify trends, predict potential issues, and implement targeted improvements.

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts
  • Real-time production monitoring
  • Comprehensive test data analysis
  • Defect classification and tracking

Continuous Improvement Culture

Quality is a journey, not a destination. We foster a culture where every team member is empowered and encouraged to identify improvement opportunities. Regular training, cross-functional quality circles, and systematic root cause analysis ensure we're always raising the bar.

  • Kaizen and continuous improvement workshops
  • Cross-functional quality task forces
  • Regular quality management reviews
  • Customer feedback integration

Four-Tier Quality Assurance System

Our comprehensive quality framework operates across four distinct but interconnected tiers, creating multiple checkpoints to ensure product excellence.

Quality begins with the raw materials. Before any fabric, thread, or component enters our production line, it must pass our stringent Incoming Quality Control procedures.

Fabric & Material Testing:

  • Composition Verification: Fiber content analysis to ensure material authenticity
  • GSM/Weight Testing for consistency across batches
  • Color Fastness Testing (washing, rubbing, perspiration, light)
  • Dimensional Stability Testing after multiple washes
  • Pilling Resistance Assessment
  • Tensile and Tear Strength Testing
  • Chemical Testing for pH value, formaldehyde, and heavy metals

Trim & Component Inspection:

  • Zipper, button, and snap functionality testing
  • Elastic recovery and durability testing
  • Thread strength and color matching verification
  • Label and tag accuracy confirmation

All materials are held in quarantine until testing is complete and approved by our quality team.

During production, our quality inspectors monitor every critical process to identify and correct issues in real-time, preventing defects from propagating through the production line.

Cutting Process Checks:

  • Fabric lay alignment and tension verification
  • Pattern matching accuracy inspection
  • Cut piece dimension verification against CAD markers
  • Notch and mark accuracy confirmation

Sewing & Assembly Monitoring:

  • First Article Inspection for each style and operation
  • Stitch Per Inch (SPI) consistency checks
  • Seam alignment and quality verification
  • Embellishment placement accuracy
  • In-process measurements at critical control points

Process Parameter Audits:

  • Sewing machine tension settings verification
  • Ironing temperature controls
  • Embroidery machine parameter validation
  • Equipment calibration status monitoring

Once production is complete, we conduct comprehensive AQL-based random inspections to provide statistical confidence in the overall quality of the production batch.

AQL Sampling Standards:

  • General Inspection Level II: Standard sampling plan
  • Critical Defects: 0% acceptance (AQL 0.0)
  • Major Defects: 1.5% acceptance (AQL 1.5)
  • Minor Defects: 4.0% acceptance (AQL 4.0)

Inspection Checklist:

  • Workmanship: Stitching quality, seam integrity, finishing
  • Measurements: Full dimensional verification against spec sheets
  • Functionality: Zippers, buttons, snaps, and closures testing
  • Visual Appearance: Fabric flaws, color consistency, printing/embroidery quality
  • Labeling & Packaging: Accuracy, placement, and completeness
  • Safety Compliance: Sharp points, loose threads, choking hazards

Each inspection generates a detailed report with defect classification, photographs, and clear pass/fail determination.

Beyond visual and functional inspections, we conduct specialized laboratory testing to verify compliance with international safety and quality standards.

Chemical Safety Testing:

  • Heavy Metals: Lead, cadmium, mercury testing
  • Phthalates: Full panel testing for children's products
  • Formaldehyde: Free and released formaldehyde content
  • AZO Dyes: Testing for banned aromatic amines
  • Flame Retardants: Compliance with flammability standards

Physical & Mechanical Testing:

  • Small Parts Testing: Ensuring no choking hazards
  • Drawstring Safety: Compliance with children's wear safety standards
  • Button Pull Test: Verification of attachment strength
  • Zipper Durability: Cycle testing for smooth operation

Performance Testing:

  • Wash Cycle Testing: Up to 50 cycles for color and shape retention
  • Color Migration Testing: Ensuring colors don't transfer
  • Pilling Resistance: Martindale or random tumble pilling tests
  • Water Resistance Testing: For specialized outerwear items
